Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of High Street Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. High Street Baptist is a growing church that wants you to GET INVOLVED!

Mission Outreach: Local, Domestic, and Foreign

Church members participate in local, domestic, and foreign mission. Church members have been on foreign missions many locations: Haiti, India, Brazil, and more. Our Family’s Ministry and Youth has served in the Appalachian Region on outreach projects.

Project 58:10

Project 58:10 is a mission of High Street Baptist Church and other local area churches that get the name from Isiah 58:10 ” If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.” (NKJV) The ministry functions on an all volunteer basis which purchases groceries, packages them, and delivers them to hungry children in Pulaski County each week through family resource centers at local schools. Food Pick-Up is made every Monday at 10AM at Kroger South in Somerset.  Packaging happens every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM at High Street and delivery happens Thursday throughout the day.  Project 58:10 currently serves around 500 local area school children each week.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir and/or praise teams. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of High Street Baptist Church.

The greeter team at High Street Baptist Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of High Street Baptist Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. We maintain an active Facebook account for additional church communication.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Each Monday morning a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Other ministry opportunities include marriage ministry, young adult ministry, as well as ministry to senior adults.
